Wattle Studio Stationery

Wattle Studio is a self-made social enterprise that creates joyful and sustainable stationery to support community-led ecological initiatives.

Concept Statement

I started this project because I love to create, and I love to collect beautiful stationery to create with. I am part of a community that uses sketching and bullet journalling as a valuable creative outlet, and a tool to carve out time for peace and joy in our busy modern lives. I know from experience that high-quality, beautiful supplies are hard to come by, and those that do exist are often manufactured overseas, using dubious labour practices and materials of unknown origin. I wanted something better.

This collection for Wattle Studio is based in the Solarpunk art movement, which envisions a future where humanity has found solutions to major contemporary issues surrounding sustainability and climate change. My mission is to create beautiful, nature-inspired stationery which generates profits to put towards building the future we want right now. At least 50% of the profits would go to local ecological initiatives, with a focus on regenerative and urban farming groups, as these have a significant positive impact on both the environment and the community.

Wattle studio is rooted in a long human history of being part of and inspired by nature, and it draws on cultural movements from history, which called for a return to the natural and handmade, such as art nouveau and arts and crafts. The products are designed to inspire and bring joy to those who use them while helping mould a brighter future for our planet and our community.
