The Revival of Traditional Art

Traditional arts are an integral part of many cultures and heritage across different countries around the world. However, with the rise of the digital age, traditional art is gradually fading away with the younger demographic. As an effort to revive the traditional art form, in partnership with renowned Children's book publishers, we would be integrating digital art techniques such as digital linoprint which integrates elements of traditional linoprint to create illustrations for a short interactive Children's E-books. The interactive Children's E-book would be inspired by the well-loved Studio Ghibli's film and Japanese folklore that influences their work to provide a fresh twist on these iconic childhood films. The story also ends with moral lessons to help the children build good values and characters.

The short interactive Children’s E-books include two stories titled ” Swept Away” and ” A Sweet Touch of Magic.”

SWEPT AWAY

The story follows a girl named Aiko, who accidentally got swept by a large wave while swimming in the ocean during a vacation with her parents. A passerby talking whale managed to rescue her and took her to back home, where she nursed her back to health. Once she regained consciousness, the whale asked if she wanted to stay or return to her world. Torn between two worlds, She eventually decided to stay since she wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of her life.

A SWEET TOUCH OF MAGIC

Inspired by Kiki Delivery Service, the story tells the tale of two sisters, Emma and Amelia, that own a successful bakery store in a busy city with their pet cat. One day, when Amelia turns 13, Emma reveals the biggest truth to her: she is actually a witch and has supernatural power. It was also revealed that the bakery’s success is the touch of magic in their sweet treat. Startled and excited, Amelia started navigating her journey as a witch.
