NOIR (AUDIO VISUAL EXPERIENCE)

Written and performed by me, and produced by @moremilly, NOIR is an experimental 3D music video featuring audio visual elements, and incorporating AI technology. The aim of this project was to explore the connection of music, AI, and space in the 3D realm, in order to create a unique euphoric experience in the experimental-ambient rap genre.

CONCEPT

The concept behind the video was to create a surreal audio visualisation, where the scene would take place in a Queensland Rail train. The train is a part of my commute to university, and it is where I usually feel the most inspired and motivated. When sitting on the train, I envisioned the walls caving in to the audio of a song, with lyrics to somewhat match and capture the ambience. If you wish to view the extensive research and process, you can do so via my portfolio linked at the end of the page.

I recommend listening with headphones or through speakers for the intended experience.

Spotify Loop

As a finishing touch, I made a visual loop to be played on streaming services, such as spotify or apply music. I took a section of the video, and animated the title “NOIR”. I wanted the loop to be vibrant and glow, which I describe as “over-saturated grunge.”

Trey Cahill

As a graduate designer, with a background in graphic, motion and fashion design, as well as music creation, Trey constructs work that stimulates the senses, overloading combinations of different art forms and mediums to create unique euphoric experiences, and strives to always create, and always in multiple realms, incorporating music, fashion and digital technology, in order to invoke emotion and reaction.
