A zine project exploring the navigation of love and self-discovery through the lens of anonymous survey participants in their 20s. Sharing tales and musings of love, heartbreak, and healing, “Love in Your 20s” hopes to resonate with readers, sparking their own introspection. AR enhanced illustrations create an interactive layer, allowing animations to bring the pages to life.
Inspired by the aim of capturing the essence of such a notoriously tumultuous decade, an anonymous survey was posted on social media, calling out to all ’20 somethings’ to share their experiences with love. As a project that focuses on the human experience, it was imperative to provide a space that welcomes all perspectives.
Primarily targeted towards readers in their 20s, the zine aims to resonate through relatability and validation of their own innermost thoughts and feelings. Functioning as both zine material and case study data, survey responses are featured throughout the zine. As readers flick through the pages, they too are prompted with the survey question, inviting them to engage in their own self-reflection.
Illustrations are incorporated throughout the zine, depicting scenes from memories, visualising snippets from responses, and adding a touch of humanism through hand-drawn elements and textural qualities. Augmented Reality (AR) is utilised to enhance illustrations through small-frame animations that reveal additional responses and/or bring the page to life.
